The Manchester United and Portugal National Team forward Cristiano Ronaldo should be considered the best footballer of all time according to a study by Dr. Tom Crawford, a mathematics professor at the University of Oxford.

According to an algorithm created by Crawford, the former Real Madrid and Juventus player occupies the first position among the best players in history being the goals and titles the most important aspects to take into account in the mathematician’s analysis.

In the list published by ‘LiveScore’, a site that Crawford used to use an algorithm to determine the 10 most outstanding footballers, Ronaldo complies with 100% in all categories of the study while Lionel Messi, second in the list, has 94%.

Interestingly, Diego Maradona, who is considered by millions of fans to be the greatest player of all time, ranks ninth on Doctor Crawford’s list. The ‘Pelusa’, World Champion in Mexico 1986, has 31% in the various categories of the analysis.

For his part, Pelé occupies the third position while Ronaldo Nazario is in the fifth place. Figures like Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldinho, Andrés Iniesta or Xavi Hernández failed to enter the list of the 10 best footballers of all time.
