Chicharito’s Galaxy breaks streak of five games without losing

A goal from the Uruguayan defender Marcelo Silva gave this Saturday the victory to Real Salt Lake by 1-0 against the LA Galaxy of the Mexican Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez. With the loss, the Galaxy ended its streak of five consecutive games without losing (four wins and one draw).

Silva scored with a header in the 49th minute taking advantage of a corner in which Galaxy goalkeeper Jonathan Bond was not successful on his way out.

After a very close first half and with Real Salt Lake arriving in some danger, the Galaxy reacted after the home team’s goal but were unable to tie the game despite the fact that the Mexican Efraín Álvarez and Samuel Grandsir had two clear chances.
