America, the only reality of a tournament of little lies

LOS ANGELES – Mexican soccer lives on outbursts, rales, tantrums and absurdities. That, without a doubt, spreads it as if it were a casting for Chapulín Colorado.

That sweetens with uncertainty a tournament of little lies such as the regular phase to spill into something a little more serious like the Repechage, where, true, four protagonists enter, some guards and other intruders.

Let’s see:

1.- America stifled an illusion, one of those, boobies, that was brewing at Atlético de San Luis. He does it with his anodyne label, but the winning goal, loaded with fiber and talent, with those gifts that Roger Martínez gives only droppers at minute 97. Even the Indiecito, Santiago Solari, lost his composure. Of that dimension, the Americanist relief that reaps more yawns than applause.

2.- Meanwhile, Chivas exorcised the rebating of a Toluca that has not survived the assault on the Eagles (3-1 at Nemesio Díez). Guadalajara beats some Diablos 2-0, who have only rescued one point out of 15 possible! and even so, despite that miserable harvest, they remain third in the general table.

3.- The Cruz Azul Champion stumbles. He makes two shots on goal in 90 minutes and draws 1-1 with Tigres, which is far from Miguel Herrera’s promise, that “Gignac is going to score a shitload of goals.” The Frenchman marks only the first in the tournament and the 150th in his career with a goal of the flag that dirties the repetitive trick of Jesús Corona in the face of those powerful shots by shrinking his arm – as before – before looking for the ball.

4.- And yes, the second in the table is still the Atlas. Quite a loose cannon that, after his poor exhibition against Chivas and a fortuitous victory, went to Mazatlán to lose 1-0, while Diego Cocca continues to become the most prolific scholar of the most silly pretexts and lame excuses. An Atlas, then, sometimes out of control and sometimes “uncooked”.

América locks his presence in the next round, although it is to be expected that next weekend, after receiving Santos on Tuesday and Tigres on Saturday, he will be able to secure his seat directly in the Liguilla.

Let us remember that the Eagles have four matches awaiting them in 13 days, a period that includes the Final of the Concachampions against Rayados (October 28 in Monterrey), with which the regular phase will close at the Azteca Stadium on Sunday, November 6. On October 31, to brighten the calendar, he faces Cruz Azul.

The Eagles worked the game against San Luis in their style. A game stuck, bland, surly, boring, intense, without respite, in which, in addition, the timid way of playing of the Madridistas from Las Tunas collaborated, but Roger Martínez arrived and scored that, the goal of the tournament, with which he knows that may blackmail contract renewal.

On the other hand, the city of San Luis Potosí was, once again, the Dantesque sideboard of bestial confrontations between the two truncheons. The images of fury and violence with which the hordes of Neanderthals and Cro-Magnons were flooded debased the weekend, especially a guy with a child in his arms participating in the brawl.

It must be remembered that the Plaza de San Luis has been an abandoned land. There have been brawls with injuries to Querétaro, Tigres and now América. It is already known that Alberto Marrero never did anything and now Severiano García did not try to think, not even a little, about a contingency plan.

And Yon de Luisa and Mikel Arriola? They only want to eradicate #ElGrito, although the streets on the periphery of some Mexican soccer stadiums continue to be lawless coliseums, to kill or be killed.

For the authorities of San Luis and the Potosí team it is clear: immunity and impunity are allowed to all the riotous, of whatever caliber they may be.

Meanwhile, Chivas ran into a team that disrespected him. Be careful, he disrespected him because he did not even motivate him, encouraged him, ordered him to play soccer.

The Devils of Hernán Cristante were sad devils and their great Luzbel, Rubens Sambueza, it is clear that the eve of the games are nights of great happiness in Guadalajara.

Thus the sad corpse of Toluca and with that balance of a possible 15 point, is still third in the tournament, but it offered one of its most regrettable performances. César Huerta scored the 1-0 at minute five of compensation in the first half, taking advantage of a drifting ball after a clear foul on the Toluco defense, but before what everyone saw, the VAR closed its eyes.

The 2-0 is from Ronaldo Cisneros to ’95, when the laziness of the Toluqueños grants all the facilities.

The verse and verb of the interim, Marcelo Michel Leaño, continues to think that he has “a great team” and “some great players”, while Cristante does make a serious diagnosis by accepting that his exorcises play at being “a little team”.

For now, a midweek shift, which can surely put a bit of order, especially with the fictitious presences of Atlas and Toluca among the top three of the tournament.

Either way, you enjoy that dose of outbursts, rales, tantrums and absurdities of the Mexican tournament. Remember, all that, without a doubt, spice you up as if it were a casting for Chapulín Colorado.
