Who to sit in Fantasy Football? – Week 9 NFL Season 2021

We arrived in the middle of the campaign in our Fantasy Football leagues this NFL 2021 Season, and that is why we show you the players you must leave on the bench for week 8, the famous Sit’Em that can not be missing in our weekly roster planning.

Remember that it is not about them being bad players, but about the matchups or situations that they are going to face every week. These are the fine points that separate the winners in Fantasy Football leagues from the rest. So don’t be afraid to pull the trigger and bank these names, at least this week.

NOTE: Below the player you will find my specific point projections for this week. These projections are from the system (Non-PPR) and are conservative predictions.

Quarterbacks

Sam Darnold / PJ Walker vs New England Patriots

Projection: 12 points

None of these QBs have shown the level necessary to be relevant in Fantasy Football. When the ground upside disappears, his production disappears and against this defense of Bill Belichick, the best thing is to erase either of them.

Justin Fields @ Pittsburgh Steelers

Projection: 14.3 points

He had a great rushing game against the 49ers defense, but the reality is that he had no more than two carries designed for him to run, so it’s difficult for this to repeat himself, and he didn’t have big plays through the air, having a fairly regular match on that road. Don’t start it against this defense that makes QBs look bad.

Running Backs

Boston Scott vs Los Angeles Chargers

Projection: 4.9 points

This RB performed in Fantasy Football production, but its use was terrible. He dominated in few things and with the amount of snaps he had it is impossible that he will have a great week in a three-headed committee again. He had just 44% snaps, was second in RB in carry percentage, and narrowly led on run routes. Don’t trust him.

Jeremy McNichols @ Los Angeles Rams

Projection: 4.7 points

The Fantasy community is extremely excited about this player, and I just don’t get it, some leagues were spending over $ 100 from FAAB. I may have more snaps, but I don’t see a use like D’Andre Swift ever coming. It will surely be a three-headed committee that will make McNichols starters suffer against a great defense.

Wide Receivers

Russell Gage @ New Orleans Saints

Projection: 5 points

With the unfortunate news of Calvin Ridley, people turned to Gage and the answer is no. It had zero targets and ran less than 80% of the team’s routes, so it’s impossible to even consider it. Don’t initiate Russell Gage.

DeVonta Smith vs Los Angeles Chargers

Projection: 6.5 points

I’m tremendously sad to say this, but this week I can’t trust “my boy” Smith. Last week he had everything to have a great game, but he could not separate and had a horrible game. This week he faces a better defense that can make him suffer. Also, for the first time, Quez Watkins ran more routes than he did.

Tight Ends

Pat Freiermuth vs Chicago Bears

Projection: 4.2 points

People get over-excited about this player because a) the Steelers overpaid for him and b) he’s the Steelers. The reality is that he is on a committee that will not allow him to have a great production. With less than 70% routes, it is impossible not to be dependent on TD.

Jack Doyle vs New York Jets

Projection. 3 points

The more you avoid Colts tight ends, the happier your Fantasy team will be. It’s a horrible three-headed committee where you can’t trust anyone. Doyle only had 55% of routes, a disappointing number.
