This season, the San Francisco 49ers have had a lot of bad luck at quarterback.
They suffered two sensitive casualties that put their season at risk.

Replacing Lance, Jimmy Garoppolo He resumed his position as the 49ers’ star quarterback and handled things well by getting the team into contention for the NFC West title and a playoff berth with the super bowl.
But in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins, Jimmy G. he suffered a broken foot in the first period that will keep him out for at least seven weeks. The earliest it would be available is for the NFC Championship Game in late January.
Against Miami, Garoppolo was replaced by brock purdy. The rookie quarterback was not out of place. He completed 25 of the 37 passes he attempted for 210 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He helped San Francisco pull off a 33-17 victory.

And again, Purdy was efficient and again helped the team to a win. San Francisco swept Tampa Bay 35-7. Brock earned his first win as a star quarterback in the NFL, handing Tom Brady the third-worst loss of his storied career.

purdy connected 16 of 21 passes for 185 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. I note another rushing touchdown. By comparison, Brady connected on 34 of 55 passes for 253 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. The game ended up being 35-0 in favor of the Niners.
Who is Brock Purdy?
Brock Purdy is a first-year quarterback in the NFL. At the collegiate level he played with the University of Iowa for four years.
Purdy completed 292 of 407 passes (71.7%) for 3,188 yards with 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 13 games in 2021, his final season with the Hawkeyes. He entered the 2022 NFL Draft with none of the attention. He wasn’t seen as a prospect with much potential among what was considered a poor crop of college quarterbacks.
After watching 261 players get taken before him, Purdy was selected by San Francisco with the last pick in the Draft to earn the nickname Mr. Irrelevant. The 49ers saw him as a player with a good arm who would be a good project to develop in the future.
