Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, a record number of Pro Bowl selections with 15 and who announced his retirement on Tuesday after 22 seasons, is recovering from a shoulder injury that dragged him through the final stretch of the season.
His last game was in Tampa Bay’s 30-27 NFC divisional round loss to the Rams a couple of weeks ago.
Brady, winner of seven Super Bowl rings, finished the 2021 season as the number one in yards with 5,316 and with the most touchdowns, 43. He also closed his participation in the playoffs with 86 TD passes in his career, an NFL record.
Aaron Rodgers, quarterback of the Packers, 10 times selected for the All-Star game, also confirmed his absence this Sunday so as not to aggravate the toe injury that bothered him at the end of the regular season and during the playoffs.
The Green Bay quarterback had the tenth most yards gained on the season and had 37 touchdowns.
They were joined by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, seventh in the NFL, called up due to the losses of Brady and Rodgers, but who declined his participation to take time off and not risk his ankle that was operated on in 2020 .

The Pro Bowl will be held next Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
