After the Citizen Oversight Network filed a tutelage to the Colombian Football Federation asking to annul the match Brazil vs. Colombia which was played in the round of 16 of the Copa América 2021, now the inter-institutional body has requested Conmebol sanction the Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez and the referee in charge of calling the Colombia-Argentina match, Jesús Valenzuela.
They promptly request that ‘Draw’ – as the goalkeeper is known – cannot play the final of the Argentina vs. Brazil, which will take place this Saturday, July 10 at the Maracana. In the same way they ask sanction the match judge for not having expelled him in the collection of penalties in the semifinal against Colombia.

Specifically, the Network of Citizen Oversight Offices accuses the Argentine of “symbolic violence.”
Let us remember that the goalkeeper saved the penalties of Davinson Sánchez, Yerri Mina and Edwin Cardona. These last two fell into the trap of ‘Draw’ Martínez, who tried to distract them with several provocative comments before they charged.
“You are nervous. Yes, yes, pretend that I already know you. You like to show off (…) look how I like you brother”, Were the words of Martínez before saving Mina’s penalty. For his part, Sánchez said something similar: “Tand I’m going to eat. I’m sorry but I eat you brother”.

In the video they assure that the referee Jesús Valenzuela should have “initially admonish the Argentine goalkeeper. Initially show him the yellow card and finally send him off without having allowed him to participate in the five collections of penalties“.
Similarly, they assured that Colombian players in “circumstances of tranquility, no psychological disturbance and moral duress” they would have had a better chance of defining the goal on penalties.

Let us remember that at the end of June, Pablo Bustos Sánchez, president of the Red de Veedurías Ciudadana, asked Conmebol to the entire Brazil-Colombia match will be played again, in which, according to the document, “in the final minutes a referee error was made ‘with the ball on the ground’ in favor ‘of the South American giant.
