The United States selection presented this Thursday, July 1, its official call for 23 footballers for the next gold Cup, in which they will not have their main European figures, who a few weeks ago became champions of the Concacaf Nations League, because on this occasion, Gregg Berhalter decided to call, mostly, players from the MLS and to some players who received their first call to the USMNT.
Through a statement, The US squad confirmed the 23 players with whom they will seek to regain the tournament throne which will take place between July 10 and August 1, something that is a priority for the national coach, who assured that they will seek to reaffirm their dominance in the area, after winning the first edition of the Nations League.
“Our priority is to win the Gold Cup. Whenever we are competing for a trophy, we want to win it. It will require a lot of effort on the part of the group, but it is certainly one of our goals. We know that the games are going to be difficult, and as we look at the roster for this tournament, we focus on the guys who are fit and can help the team win, ”said the coach.

The selection of the stars and stripes was drawn in Group B of the Gold Cup, in which it will begin its path in the Gold Cup, next Sunday, July 11, facing one of the teams that will qualify through the first round of the tournament, then face Martinique and close the group stage against Canada.
