The NFL machine never stops spinning. The 49ers’ season came to an end on Sunday night and changes to the coaching staff have already begun.
Solomon Wilcots was the first to report that assistant head coach and tight ends coach Jon Embree will not return to the 49ers for the 2022 season.

Embree was hired by the 49ers in 2017 shortly after Kyle Shanahan was named head coach.
During his time with San Francisco, Embree helped George Kittle become one of the best tight ends in the game. In addition to Kittle, 2020 sixth-round draft pick Charlie Woerner showed growth during his second NFL season.
San Francisco will also be looking for a new offensive line assistant coach. Mike Klis of 9News in Denver is reporting that Butch Barry will be hired as the Denver Broncos’ offensive line coach.
According to multiple sources, the Broncos are in the process of hiring Butch Barry as their new OL coach, replacing Mike Munchak. Barry trained with Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett, OC Justin Oetten in Green Bay in 2020. He spent last year as Kyle Shanahan’s OLine assistant coach with the 49ers. #9 sports

Barry was a lead analyst for the Green Bay Packers in 2020 and worked with new Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett and new offensive coordinator Justin Oetten.
Barry joined the 49ers staff in February 2021 and spent the past season working with offensive line coach Chris Foerster.
San Francisco has also begun the process of putting together its 2022 roster, signing eleven players to reserve/future contracts including:
T. E. Tanner Hudson
FB Josh Hokit
OL Alfredo Gutierrez
W.R. Austin Mack
W.R. Conor Wedington
LB Curtis Robinson
DT Chris Slayton
jordan matthews
WR Kee Sean Johnson
C. B. Ka’dar Hollman
DL Alex Barrett
All players, with the exception of Hollman and Johnson, finished the 2021 season on the team’s practice squad.
Since Ross Dwelley is out of contract for 2022, keep an eye on Tanner Hudson. Hudson signed with the 49ers practice squad on September 3, 2021, after spending 2018-2020 with Tampa Bay.
Between his time with the Buccaneers and 49ers, Hudson has played in 22 games with five catches on 12 targets for 67 yards. Hudson was on the active roster during Tampa Bay’s postseason run to the Super Bowl in 2020, playing mostly on special teams.
Alex Barrett could be another name to watch out for, especially if San Francisco can’t bring back DJ Jones. Barrett has a history with 49ers defensive line coach Kris Kocurek, the two were together in Detroit in 2017. The defensive end played 119 snaps over the course of seven games for the 49ers in 2020, finishing with five tackles and two hits. field marshal.
