With almost 700 days without throwing a ball in an official match of the National Football League, Deshaun Watson it reappeared right at the same point where it left.
Under the lights of NRG Stadium, his former home, Watson dressed in the colors of the Cleveland Browns after serving an 11-game suspension.
Watson didn’t put in a performance like the one Houston fans are used to when he took the balls under the Texans’ center, but he contributed to the Browns’ 27-14 win over the Texans.
It was the first game since Jan. 3, 2021, when he passed for 365 yards and three touchdowns for Houston in a 41-38 loss to Tennessee.. Shortly after that, he became unhappy with the team’s direction and requested a trade. Two dozen women then accused him of sexual harassment or assault during massage therapy sessions..
With the win, the Browns snapped a five-game losing streak in Houston and earned their fifth win of the season.
DESHAUN WATSON PERFORMANCE
The season-by-season highest-salary quarterback showed speed and mobility behind the pocket, but through the air he was far from his best numbers.
Watson completed 12 of 22 passes for 131 yards and one interception.
By land Watson had 21 yards per rush.
KYLE ALLEN IS NOT A FIRST-TEAM QUALITY QUARTERBACK
In his second game as the Texans’ offensive starter, Kyle Allen had a match to forget when he was intercepted a couple of times, one of them pick six. Allen’s passing average was just 4 yards per pass caught.
Though he ultimately threw a touchdown pass and finished with 201 yards.
RETURNED PUNT
With the Browns trailing 5-0 in the second period of the game, Donovan Peoples-Jones returned a punt 76 yards to put the Browns’ first points on the scoreboard.. It is the second NFL punt to end in points this season.

To take the pressure off Watson’s performance, the Browns turned to their trusted running back: Nick Chubb.
The running back grabbed the ball 17 times for 80 yards. Chubb averaged almost 5 yards for each time he took the ball.
BROWNS DEFENSE
The Browns had defensive impact plays like Tony Fields II’s interception that ended in the end zone and a fumble recovery by Anthony Schwartz. The Texans offense only converted one first and 10 on third down of 12.
