Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian test positive for Covid-19

The two veteran Saints quarterbacks, Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian, tested positive for Covid-19, the same as Dalvin Cook, running back from Minnesota, and JC Tetter, Cleveland center and president of the NFL Players Association.

Hill and Siemian are among nine New Orleans players who were placed on the COVID-19 list. Others included are safety Malcolm Jenkins and tackle Jordan Mills, who was expected to start Monday against Miami.

The situation leaves Ian Book, a rookie from Notre Dame and who has been inactive for the past 14 weeks, as the only active quarterback under contract. Everything indicates that Book is heading to his presentation in the regular season. Running back Alvin Kamara has been the emergency quarterback.

The latest COVID-19 hit to the Saints comes as head coach Sean Payton awaits the return, who did not travel to Tampa Bay to be part of the victory obtained last Thursday. The Saints defensive coordinator, Dennis Allen, has fulfilled the function of strategist.

Other players who made the COVID-19 list are: guard James Carpenter, linebacker Kaden Elliss, safety Jeff Heath, defensive end Jalyn Holmes and defensive tackle Christian Ringo.

Tretter posted on Twitter that he had experienced symptoms and chose to get tested at the team’s facility in Berea, Ohio.
