Report: Seahawks to hire Sean Desai as associate head coach

The Seattle Seahawks finished the 2021 NFL campaign at the bottom of the NFC West and much of that result is the responsibility of the defense. However, coach Pete Carroll has found several solutions for next season.

According to the report by Ian Rapoport, of NFL Network, the Seahawks will hire Sean Desai as associate head coach with the intention of having him run the defense alongside new defensive coordinator Clint Hurtt.

Until now, Desai has spent his entire coaching career with the Bears.. In 2013, when he was 30 years old, he joined the Chicago franchise as an assistant defensive quality control player.

In 2019 he was promoted to safety coach and in 2021 he became the defensive coordinator for the Bears. Desai’s drive was sixth-best last season, allowing 5,384 total yards. In addition, he was the third-best passing defense in passing yards allowed, trailing only the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots.
