Rams re-sign Cooper Kupp, making him one of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL

ANDl wide receiver cooper kuppSuper Bowl MVP, agreed to a three-year contract extension with Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday, after a spectacular season in which he led the NFL in all major receiving categories, capturing the ‘Triple Crown.’

Rams announced the deal just two days after signing Aaron Donald to a massive extension that makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback player in history.

Kupp’s new extension is in exchange for $80 million for three seasons (with 75 guaranteed), and brings his total deal to $110 million through 2026 by adding the remaining two years of his first renewal, which was signed in September 2020.

With this new contract, Kupp enters the list of the top 5 of the highest paid receivers in the entire league with its $26.166 million a year on average, trailing only mega-deals from Tyreek Hill with Dolphins, Davante Adams with Raiders Y DeAndre Hopkins with Cardinals.

Cooper Kupp provided a 2021 season for history

Kupp had one of the best seasons in professional football history last year in his first season with the new Rams quarterback, matthew stafford. Kupp led the NFL with 145 receptions for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns for Los Angeles, winning the ‘Offensive Player of the Year’ award from Associated Press as the fourth player to lead the league in all three categories.

Both Kupp’s receptions and yards were the second-highest totals in NFL history, albeit accomplished in a 17-game season. The player All-Pro First-team player, he racked up another 33 receptions for 478 yards and four touchdowns in the playoffs, capping the season with two TDs in the Super Bowl LVI against the Cincinnati Bengals including the eventual championship-winning scoring catch with 1:25 left.

Kupp and Snead acknowledged their desire for a contract extension several months ago, but Kupp said he didn’t mind becoming the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL despite his unmatched statistical achievementsIt’s last season. He also participated in the Rams’ entire offseason program instead of staying home to stimulate negotiations.

The third-round pick in the 2017 draft of Eastern Washington he said Tuesday that he wanted a deal that would allow the Rams to stay competitive.
