Nick Foles will be the new starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts

The 2022 season of the indianapolis Colts It’s been a real roller coaster at quarterback since matt ryan started as a starter, then was replaced by the rookie sam ehlinger and a few weeks ago he returned as QB1.

However, the Colts will have a new starting quarterback in the figure of Nick Foles for the Week 16 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Interim head coach Jeff Saturday announced the move during a news conference Wednesday.

“I appreciate the way Matt has handled it. Obviously it’s not the season he expected, nor the Colts,” said the interim head coach. “I feel bad for Matt, but I think Nick gives us the best chance to win and we will go in that direction.”.

Foles arrived in Indianapolis as a free agent in May 2022.. So far, he’s only seen action in Week 2, when the Jacksonville Jaguars blanked the Colts 24-0.

The last time Foles started in the NFL was during the Week 16 game of the 2021 season., when he was a member of the Chicago Bears. In that game he completed 24 of 35 throws for 250 yards and a touchdown.

Foles is an 11-season veteran who began his career in 2012. when the Philadelphia Eagles drafted him in the third round of the Draft.

After yearlong stints with the St. Louis Rams and Kansas City Chiefs, the Arizona graduate returned to the Eagles in 2017 and he won Super Bowl LII, where he was the MVP, by beating the New England Patriots. He later became the starting quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019 and spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons with the Bears.

Forever, 33-year-old quarterback has 14,003 yards with 82 touchdown passes and 43 interceptions after completing 62.4 percent of his shots. In total, Foles has played 69 games, 56 as a starter.
