After what happened in week 14 of the 2021 NFL Season, we have new NFL Power Rankings, now for week 15.
1. New England Patriots
Record: 9-4
Previous position: 2 (+1)
Bill Belichick is probably spending the entire bye week preparing an all-aerial game plan to face the Bills next week.
2. Green Bay Packers
Record: 10-3
Previous position: 3 (+1)
They keep winning and the division is under control, but the game against the Bears left the feeling that this team is far from being a machine.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Record: 10-3
Previous position: 4 (+1)
It was not easy to beat the Bills, but they managed to get another victory and it seems that we are facing the same scenario as last year: they are picking up pace towards the end of the season.
4. Kansas City Chiefs
Record: 9-4
Previous position: 5 (+1)
Everything seems to point to that they are back, and the game against the Chargers will help determine if that is totally true.
5. Arizona Cardinals
Record: 10-3
Previous position: 1 (-4)
This team is solid, there is no doubt about that, but defeats like this week make it clear that they are far from being the absolute candidate for the National Conference title.
6. Los Angeles Rams
Record: 9-4
Previous position: 7 (+1)
It looks like they can pick up the pace in the final stretch of the 2021 NFL Season. The question is whether they will be enough to go far.
7. Dallas Cowboys
Record: 9-4
Previous position: 6 (-1)
If the offense does not improve, the end result will not be much different from previous years, and that will be a failure for this team.
8. Tennessee Titans
Record: 9-4
Previous position: 9 (+1)
Nothing can help you get back on track like facing the Jaguars. The problem is, they will need a little more effort to beat the Steelers.
Top teams in the NFL Power Rankings from 9th to 16th place:
9. Baltimore Ravens
Record: 8-5
Previous position: 8 (-1)
It seems that the division is still within reach, but will depend on the health of Lamar Jackson. For now everything is in the air.
10. Indianapolis Colts
Record: 7-6
Previous position: 10 (=)
Next week’s game against the Patriots will be a real litmus test for Indianapolis. What’s more, it will be his first postseason game.
11. Los Angeles Chargers
Record: 8-5
Previous position: 12 (+1)
If this team could be consistent, it would be one of the most dangerous in the entire NFL. We’ll see if they manage to pick up the pace as we enter January.
12. San Francisco 49ers
Record: 7-6
Previous position: 14 (+2)
It’s time to recognize the enormous value George Kittle has in this offense. The 49ers are slowly heading for the postseason.
13. Buffalo Bills
Record: 7-6
Previous position: 11 (-2)
Until 2019 they were victims of Tom Brady’s Patriots and that cost them two games. Now they are falling victim to the Patriots and Tom Brady, and that could cost them three games.
14. Cincinnati Bengals
Record: 7-6
Previous position: 13 (-1)
This team has improved a lot from last year to this, and now the next step will be to learn how to win consecutive games.
15. Cleveland Browns
Record: 7-6
Previous position: 19 (+4)
It seems that this team was not as out of contention as some thought, although in part it is because their division has been a wheel of fortune.
16. Miami Dolphins
Record: 6-7
Previous position: 17 (+1)
The playoffs look a long way off, but it looks like they could go 8-9, which would be something spectacular considering they were 1-7 a few weeks ago.
Our NFL Power Rankings with teams 17-24:
17. Minnesota Vikings
Record: 6-7
Previous position: 22 (+5)
Admittedly, this team makes the games interesting, even when there doesn’t seem to be room for that to happen. Of course, so far that has played against him most of the time.
18. Denver Broncos
Record: 7-6
Previous position: 21 (+3)
They still don’t see themselves as a scary team, but at least it is a rival that will cost any opponent a lot of work.
19. Philadelphia Eagles
Record: 6-7
Previous position: 20 (+1)
It looks like Gardner Minshew could end up being Jalen Hurts’ Nick Foles, and that’s the worst thing that could happen to the Eagles: another QB controversy.
20. Washington Football Team
Record: 6-7
Previous position: 15 (-5)
Between injuries and problems with COVID, this team is running out of defense at the worst possible time.
21. Pittsburgh Steelers
Record: 6-6-1
Previous position: 16 (-5)
Apparently the problem in Pittsburgh is dancing: between the Last dance Ben Roethlisberger and the Chase Claypool dances, the season is slipping away.
22. Las Vegas Raiders
Record: 6-7
Previous position: 18 (-4)
Apparently the Raiders forgot they were facing the stoned Chiefs and not the early season version.
23. New Orleans Saints
Record: 6-7
Previous position: 25 (+2)
It looks like Alvin Kamara may be enough to help them stay in contention for a postseason berth, although he may not be enough.
24. Seattle Seahawks
Record: 5-8
Previous position: 24 (=)
In theory they can still achieve a winning season, but it is highly difficult for them to do so. At the very least they are saving their brand a bit.
The worst teams in our NFL Power Rankings:
25. Atlanta Falcons
Record: 6-7
Previous position: 23 (-2)
For some reason they are still alive in the playoff contest, but it’s pretty clear that their aspirations are far from realistic.
26. Carolina Panthers
Record: 5-8
Previous position: 26 (=)
That the Panthers talk about mixing Cam Newton and PJ Walker on offense is the best sign that they have already entered a point of total despair.
27. Chicago Bears
Record: 4-9
Previous position: 28 (+1)
The Bears played the Packers well for a long time. The problem is, that’s the closest they have to a moral victory against their hated rival.
28. New York Giants
Record: 4-9
Previous position: 27 (-1)
Considering how things are in this team, the best thing is to let the season end and start from scratch: new manager, new head coach and new QB.
29. New York Jets
Record: 3-10
Previous position: 29 (=)
The good news for the Jets is that they already drafted QB this year, so they don’t need an extraordinary position in the next draft. Of course, they must choose carefully, because there are many needs.
30. Detroit Lions
Record: 1-11-1
Previous position: 30 (=)
Dan Campbell is going to have to mature a lot as a head coach if his plan is to help the Lions win games in the near future.
31. Houston Texans
Record: 2-11
Previous position: 31 (=)
The only good news for David Culler is that he is not the worst head coach in the division. The problem is that the bar is very low on that issue.
32. Jacksonville Jaguars
Record: 2-11
Previous position: 32 (=)
Most concerning with the Jaguars is that this team is being run by one person who gives the impression of being totally disconnected. The future in Jacksonville looks very bleak with Urban Meyer.
