Taysom Hill, starter for TNF

New Orleans’ offense is about to take a drastic but well-known turn. Via Mike Triplett of ESPN, this Wednesday it was confirmed that Taysom Hill, who recently signed a contract extension with the team, will be the Saints’ starting quarterback when this Thursday they face the Cowboys in Thursday Night Football of Week 13.

During a press conference the previous Tuesday, the HC Sean Payton had already announced that Hill would take all the repetitions with the first team this week in the Saints training, so this decision was predestined, and thus, Hill will become the third quarterback to start for New Orleans in 2021, after Jameis Winston and Trevor Siemian.

Winston started in the first seven games and the Saints were 5-2 before a fatal knee injury that prematurely ended their season. The team subsequently posted a disastrous 0-4 record in Siemian’s starts, so to keep their postseason hopes alive, they have decided to give Hill a chance to take over the offense, although he has not played since. Week 10 due to a partial tear in the plantar fascia.

In 2020, filling in for retired Drew Brees, Hill posted 88 of 121 completions for 928 yards, 4 TDs and 2 INTs. However, this season he only has 56 yards and 1 INT serving as QB. Is Hill the answer the Saints need to try to make the postseason?

Antonio Brown, away at least another two weeks

Terrible news for the Buccaneers’ air offense. Yesterday at a press conference HC Bruce Arians pointed out that WR Antonio Brown did not practice with the team this Wednesday and that, in fact, the wide receiver was “in doubt” for next Sunday’s game against the Falcons, however, the picture could end up being much worse.

Via Adam Schefter of ESPN, Brown is reported to be missing at least the next two weeks of play due to dealing with a heel problem in addition to an ankle injury. Therefore, he is expected to be absent against Atlanta and Buffalo, with a view to returning to the field for Week 15, when Tampa Bay receives a visit from the Saints.

Brown has missed the Buccaneers last five games because in Week 6, against the Eagles, he sprained his ankle. However, in the five games he has played in 2021 he has accumulated 29 receptions for 418 total yards and 4 TDs, becoming one of the key elements of the offense led by QB Tom Brady.

Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Scotty Miller, Tyler Johnson and Jaelon Darden are the other wide receivers on the team’s 53-fold roster. However, Tampa Bay is 5-0 with Brown on the field and 3-3 when absent, so his eventual return is highly anticipated so that the Buccaneers can close the 2021 NFL Season strong. to see Brown on the field this season?

Seahawks sign Adrian Peterson

Good news for Seattle’s running game. This Wednesday, HC Pete Carroll confirmed at a press conference that the Seahawks signed RB Adrian Peterson to their practice squad. Via Mike Garofolo of NFL MediaIn an initial report it was reported that Peterson had visited the team’s facilities, and apparently everything went smoothly.

At the time of the official announcement, Carroll joked that since he was head coach at USC (University of Southern California) between 2001 and 2009, he had tried to get Peterson’s services: I said to him, we finally got him, ”Carroll commented, via Curtis Crabtree of PFT and KJR.

Peterson, who was cut by the Titans just over a week ago, in 2021 has only managed to register a total of 82 yards and 1 TD on 27 carries over three games. Yet at 36 years old, he ranks No. 5 for the most rushing yards in NFL history with 14,902, just 367 behind the legendary Barry Sanders at No. 4.

Now, with Seattle, he will have the opportunity to continue to climb the list. In addition, he will try to help a running attack that has been badly hurt since it was announced that RB Chris Carson would miss the rest of the year due to a neck injury. The Seahawks currently have RBs Rashaad Penny and Travis Homer dealing with injuries, so Peterson could be activated to the 53 roster soon. Will Peterson make a positive impact on Seattle’s backfield?

Kenny Vaccaro retires from NFL

One more race has come to an end. This Wednesday S Kenny Vaccaro confirmed that he decided to retire from the NFL after 8 seasons as a professional. The now former defensive back for the Titans and Saints announced that he has decided to retire to dedicate himself to launching a new esports organization co-founded by Vaccaro himself and two professional players and entrepreneurs, it was reported in an organization press release. G1, known as Gamers First).

“This is a decision (…) that I have been thinking about for a long time,” Vaccaro said in the statement. “I have been a video game player for longer than I played football, and I always considered myself first as a video game player. So this is the realization of a long-term dream for me. And although football has been how many have defined me, G1 it’s also proof to other athletes that life doesn’t end just because you take off your helmet. You can reinvent yourself ”.

Thus, Vaccaro decides to change his football helmet for headphones, with the aim of pursuing a world championship of electronic sports in the video game known as Halo. The Texas graduate came to the Saints as a first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, and remained in New Orleans until he signed with Tennessee in 2018, where he played until 2020.

This season Vaccaro was without a team, however, throughout his career, which includes a total of 110 games played, he accumulated 10 INTs, 44 passes defended, 11.5 sacks, 30 quarterback hits and 610 tackles. How would you rate Vaccaro’s career in the NFL?

The Vikings would get Michael Pierce back

Good news for Minnesota, who could win back a very important piece to their defensive line for Week 13. Manager Michael Pierce practiced with the team for the first time in two months on Wednesday. Pierce has missed the Vikings last seven games due to an extended stint on the Injured Reserve caused by an elbow mishap.

However, Minnesota designated Pierce to return to training when preparations began for next Sunday’s game against the Lions, and HC Mike Zimmer said he hopes Pierce can play Detroit. Pierce is eligible to be activated to the roster of 53 anytime in the next 21 days, otherwise he would be out for the rest of the season.

Pierce, who signed a 3-year, $ 27 million deal with the Vikings in 2020, has not yet been the reinforcement the team hoped for. The previous season he decided not to play due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and this 2021, in four games played, he only registers a total of 9 tackles, 2 sacks and 2 hits from QB. However, between 2016 and 2019, with Baltimore, he played 30 games with 151 tackles, so the Vikings hope he can regain his level. Will Pierce be able to make a positive impact on Minnesota’s defense upon his return?
