TJ Watt, injured at TNF

Last night’s Thursday Night Football ended in Minnesota’s 28-36 win over Pittsburgh, yet the Steelers lost more than just the game. It’s about the superstar, LB TJ Watt, who was officially ruled out of the match early in the third quarter due to a groin injury.

It was not clear when Watt suffered the mishap, however, throughout the second quarter he was seen without his helmet on the Steelers sideline. At the end of the game, HC Mike Tomlin did not offer any update on the seriousness of the mishap, simply mentioning that Watt had injured his groin area.

In the absence of more examinations to determine the damage from the injury, losing Watt could be disastrous for Pittsburgh in its quest to enter the postseason in 2021. Throughout this season, the fifth-year linebacker accumulates 4 passes defended, 4 fumbles. forced, 2 recovered, 47 tackled, and 16 sacks, leading the NFL in this last category and also being his personal best. What would the Steelers aspire to without TJ Watt on the field for the season finale?

Randall Cobb could miss the rest of the 2021 NFL Season

Bad news in Green Bay. Due to a mid-torso mishap, WR Randall Cobb was unable to finish the Week 12 game where the Packers beat the Rams, leaving injured in the second half of the game. However, despite Green Bay resting the previous weekend, the situation did not improve.

Via Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Cobb underwent central zone surgery last week, so everything indicates that he will be absent multiple weeks and that even his 2021 NFL Season may have come to an end. “He had a pretty bad injury,” HC Matt LaFleur commented via Wes Hodkiewicz on the Packers’ website. “That is unfortunate because he has done an incredible job when given the opportunity.”

In his first season back with Green Bay since 2018, Cobb has 28 receptions for 375 total yards and 5 TDs. In the team’s last game, against Los Angeles, he caught 4 balls for 95 yards and 1 touchdown in what was his best game of the year, however now we may not see him back until 2022. How will the offense be affected of the Packers without Cobb on the field?

Tom Brady: “Rob Gronkowski is the best tight end I’ve ever played”

Tampa Bay was the center of attention after a controversial statement from QB Tom Brady. The previous Sunday in the Buccaneers’ victory over the Falcons, Brady and TE Rob Gronkowski connected for their 90th touchdown as a pair, and this Thursday, Brady did not hesitate to thank for all the years he has spent as a professional with Gronkowski, Noting that he doesn’t think there is any doubt that he is the best tight end in NFL history:

“It was amazing watching him play,” said Brady. “Obviously, he’s the best tight end the game has ever played, and he still does. I think his ability to block in the running game, run routes in the passing game, win against smaller players, and then he’s very good in crucial situations. It stands out in the most important moments ”.

Gronkowski, who came to the league in 2010, has spent his entire career with Brady pitching to him. This explains why at this point both are only behind Hall of Famers Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison in the list of the most regular-season touchdowns in NFL history among a pair of players (112). Will Gronkowski and Brady beat Manning and Harrison’s record? Is Gronkowski the best tight end in league history?

Chase Edmonds and more Cardinals comebacks

Good news in Arizona, who by the end of the regular season will have a full roster. In addition to last week’s returns from QB Kyler Murray and WR DeAndre Hopkins, this Thursday the Cardinals confirmed that RB Chase Edmonds was designated to return to team practice.

Edmonds had been on the Injured Reserve since sustaining an ankle injury at the beginning of Arizona’s win over San Francisco in Week 9. This 2021 records 641 total yards from the scrimmage and 1 TD, being a fundamental pillar. on a Cardinals running game that also features James Conner. Now, with the pair of healthy running backs, the offense led by Kliff Kingsbury could be more deadly than ever.

However, these are not the only elements that the team recovered heading into Week 14. Arizona also designated S Charles Washington, who suffered from a hamstring injury, to return from the Injured Reserve. Additionally, they activated RB Jonathan Ward from the COVID-19 Reserve. What should we expect from the Cardinals with a totally healthy offense?

Leslie “Speedy” Duncan, Chargers Legend, Passes Away

In more NFL news, this Thursday the league was dressed in mourning. In addition to the tragic passing of WR Demaryius Thomas, the passing of former Chargers cornerback and Hall of Famer Leslie “Speedy” Duncan, at the age of 79, was also announced:

“Speedy was, as his nickname would properly indicate, a player who was ahead of his time,” Chargers owner Dean Spanos said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to the entire Duncan family, his teammates and everyone who was touched by Speedy and his larger than life personality. We will miss him deeply. “

Duncan came to the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 1964. He played seven seasons with the team and then another four in Washington. Throughout his career he was a 3-time AFL All-Star in San Diego, and Pro Bowler in 1971 with the then Redskins.

At the time of his retirement he did so accumulating 24 INTs, 3 defensive TDs, and managed to tie the Chargers franchise record with the most interceptions in a game, making 3 against the Raiders on September 25, 1966. The foregoing was worth to be immortalized in the Hall of Fame of the NFL in 1995. How would you describe the trajectory of Speedy Duncan?
