Mike McDaniel: Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater know their role on the team

Now, Mike McDaniel, head coach of the Dolphins, made it clear that both Tagovailoa and Bridgewater know the role they will play in the upcoming campaign.

The Dolphins head coach stated during the prospect evaluation process that he wanted a veteran who will support the starter on game plan issues and could step up if the QB1 was injured.

In 2021, Tua Tagovaila missed four regular season games and could not finish another two due to various injuries, including a fractured rib. The record for games that Tagovailoa did not finish or play was 2-4.

Tua and Teddy’s early years

Both players entered the NFL as QBs drafted in the first round of the Draft. and they had the chance to take over the reins of the offense sometime in their first season as a pro.

In his first two years in the league, Bridgewater played 28 games as a starter and accumulated 6,150 yards with 28 touchdown passes and 21 interceptions. after completing 64.9 percent of his shots. Also, the product of Louisville was sacked 83 times and signed a record of 17-11.

On the other hand, Tagovailoa has played 21 games as a starter and has 4,467 yards with 27 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.. What differentiates both players the most is the amount of punishment received since Tua has only suffered 40 sacks. The Alabama product has 13 wins and eight losses as a QB1.
