Miami expects a better season than last year for the Dolphins and Tua Tagovailoa

After a trip that ended abruptly last season when the Bills handed them a painful loss that extinguished postseason chances, Miami intends to pick up the advance of last year, giving Tua Taigovailoa complete control of the offense. after letting charismatic veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick go into free agency.

Head coach Brian Flores in his third season at the helm of the program, made a decision that broke the old order of the NFL by placing two offensive coordinators that among other responsibilities they must develop the youth talent of Taigovailoa so that it reaches another level within a league where the last name of the game is: Quarterback.

The start of the calendar will make and break the Dolphins’ aspirations as take the plane to play away from home in four of the first six weeks In which he includes the kick off at Gillette Stadium against the New England Patriots and visits to Tampa Bay to meet again with an old acquaintance: Tom Brady.

Eric Studesville and George Godsey, were promoted to design the Miami attack in which they added high speed receivers that add yards after taking the shipments of Tua who will no longer be with handbrake due to the fears that the organization had for the injury hip that he suffered in his college stage with Alabama. With the car keys in his possession and without constantly having to see Fizpatrick in the rear-view mirror, Taigovailoa will enjoy the arrival of Will Fuller. Rockets placed in the corners of the offense will give the quarterback a season close to 4,000 yards through the air..

On defense, the Dolphins did not allow drama to develop during the offseason and decided to give a contract to their outstanding cornerback Xavien Howard. with which they anchor one of the best secondary schools in the American Conference. With the deep end almost as manicured as the White House, Miami’s front-ends will have time to capture rival quarterbacks.

The chaos that Flores likes to generate in rival offensives was reflected in the 2020 statistics books where they managed to 47 sacks, 16 forced balls, one of them who returned to touchdown.

The postseason is within reach of Miami, as long as they solve the first stretch of the season that is as difficult as negotiating a mined terrain.

Player to watch

It is not usual for a defensive safety to be the game breaker of an organization but the confidence it provides Xavien Howard it is not usual either. The cornerback last year became the first player since 2007 with ten or more interceptions in a season.. Along with that, the Houston, Texas native defended 20 passes, the most in the league. He recorded 51 tackles and forced a fumble.

There are very few, if not none, arguments that can support that Dan Marino is the oldest Dolphin in the history of the franchise. While it could be argued that The Man did not get any rings from Super BowlIt must be remembered that from its birth to the present day, football is a sport where victories and defeats are for the team. Marino was the 27th pick in the 1983 Draft, a generation that featured John Elway and Jim Kelly.

When he retired in 1999, he held the most important records for a quarterback.. He completed 4,967 passes of 8,358 attempts for 61,361 yards and 420 TD. He was selected as an AFC starter in nine Pro Bowls: 1983-1987, 1991-1992, and 1994-1995.

Dan was the MVP of the NFL in 1984, when he set records with 5,084 yards and 48 TDs. As a member of the Hall of Fame his talent has never been questioned, nor should it be put, that he is the best man to ever wear the uniform of the Miami Dolphins.
