Mexico, Jul 6 (EFE) .- The Arizona Cardinals’ leader in quarterback sacks in 2021, Markus Golden, declared himself amazed on Wednesday by the passion that the NFL unleashes in Mexico.
“I am amazed by the enormous passion that there is in Mexico for the NFL. I am excited that the game is coming to the Azteca Stadium because I can feel that energy and I can’t wait to get on the field,” the linebacker told Efe.
The linebacker, who had 11 sacks with the Cardinals last season, visited Mexico City as part of the promotion for the game his team will play against the San Francisco 49ers at the Azteca stadium on November 21.
In this scenario, the attendance record for an NFL championship game was broken with 103,407 fans, on October 2, 2005 in a game that the Arizona Cardinals beat the San Francisco 49ers 31-14.
Both teams will meet in the eleventh week of the season.
“I know that the Azteca Stadium is the largest in Mexico, that there is a great atmosphere when it is full and the sound of the fans is really deafening. I can’t wait to be there,” he stressed.
