MIN 36, PIT 28

1. The way the Vikings find ways to unnecessarily complicate games is still impressive. Time and again they let go of parties that they have controlled, and this was no exception. Something that has been constant in Mike Zimmer’s era as head coach in the NFL.

2. Yes, Ben Roethlisberger is finished, there is no doubt, but in this match he brought out the last thing he had without a doubt. The problem is that the defense is no longer producing as it did at the beginning of the year, and this team is not set up to win any other way.

SEA 33, HOU 13

3. As long as Russell Wilson is ready to play, the Seahawks will compete in every game, because he is a competitive guy by nature. Too bad this year is not going to give them much. On the other hand, will Rashaad Penny be able to stay healthy for some time?

4. Now I have to highlight something, even if it is, about the Texans. Davis Mills played very well this time, with 331 passing yards and a touchdown. It’s funny how almost nothing is expected of him, and suddenly has his flashes of good levelEven if it’s against a seedy defense like the Seahawks.

CLE 24, BAL 22

5. What a crazy game, which for me speaks volumes about how the losing culture has endured in the Browns, almost being beaten by a team completely destroyed by injuries.

6. On the other hand, it is also worth noting the strength of the Ravens as a team and the amount of correct adjustments that John Harbaugh makes between games. I would not doubt that these teams will see each other again in the playoffs.

TEN 20, JAX 0

7. Of the games that it is necessary to win as a contending team in the NFL to continue accumulating victories and recovering those injured in the process. Good step for Mike Vrabel and his people.

8. I see nothing of the Jaguars, and getting worse. Now, Urban Meyer doesn’t even answer the way he should at press conferences. We are counting the days until your departure.

KC 48, LV 9

9. It seems the Chiefs revive against the Raiders every time they face them. They have to show us that they can maintain this level, especially against competitive teams.

10. This seesaw for the Raiders is very unfair to the fans, who no longer even know what to think of their team. The worst thing is that I don’t even know where they could start to try to fix their problems. Maybe with a new head coach and a new GM we can have more ideas next year.

NO 30, NYJ 9

11. The running game and clock control are going to kill the Jets in any week, because Zach Wilson at this point in his career can’t win any game where he has to risk the ball. He’s too careless with him.

12. Defense and running game, unfortunately, the only winning formula for the Saints. The good part is that they could still make the playoffs.

ATL 29, CAR 21

13. How can a team be so dominant on defense early in the year, even against major offenses, and look so bad now, against a pretty seedy offense like Atlanta’s? Sometimes I just don’t understand what happens in the NFL.

14. Cam Newton doesn’t deserve to be in the NFL today, he looks ridiculous. I said.

DEN 38, DET 10

15. I told you: it was normal for a team that came to win after so many defeats to loosen up and relax for the next game on the calendar. The Lions should already be thinking about adjustments for 2022.

16. And here we are, wrapping up week 14, and the Broncos are in the playoff fight. Everything seems to indicate that Vic Fangio is going to save his job, and if in the offseason they bring a level QB and a good offensive coordinator to take him, they will be a clear candidate for the SB in a year.

DAL 27, WAS 20

17. There is something that just does not quite square me with those Cowboys, something does not quite convince me, with everything and that they are releasing the games. Is it Mikee McCarthy? Could it be the poor performance of Dak Prescott? I don’t know: it will be seen with more games.

18. Washington is a team with character, that is clear to me. Pity about the injuries, and that they need more weapons like Curtis Samuel, no doubt.

LAC 37, NYG 21

19. I read a tweet there that said Justin Herbert should never throw short passes. Obviously it was an exaggeration, but it really is splendid to see how he stretches the field with his long passes, and that they remembered more often that they have several offensive weapons to be more consistent in those passes.

20. The Giants have where to save the roster a bit next year. He’s not even close to the worst roster in the league. Their defense is decent, and I know they have been trying to rebuild the offensive line for several years, however, the day they do it, they will be another team. Obviously, the priority will also be to find a new QB.

SF 26, CIN 23 (OT)

21. This game was won by Nick Bosa, George Kittle, and Jimmy G playing clutch. In fact, you could say that Jimmy won it twice.

22. I was struck by how well Joe Burrow played despite his little finger injury. It is clear that this player has a lot of character and does not shrink in difficult moments. He just needs a better offensive line, some defensive adjustments, a good head coach and care. It is not too much to ask.

TB 33, BUF 27 (OT)

23. The Bills have a big problem, they can only win one way: for Josh Allen to charge the team to victory. Tre’Davious White’s loss is too important to his defense, and few quarterbacks can cope with having a bad offensive line and no running game.

24. Leonard Fournette is a key piece for this offense, it is very clear to me. He opens the playbook, because thanks to a powerful running game, it’s harder to back out opposing DBs and cover receivers. Plus, this team is proving, again, that when the season matters most is when they light up.

GB 45, CHI 30

25. It was reconfirmed that Aaron Rodgers “owns” the Bears, and the Packers also proved once again that they are one of the best teams in the NFL. We’ll see if now if they have what to get to the Super Bowl: they have a deep roster, head coach, quarterback, defense, running game. There are no more excuses.

26. We are very curious to know what will happen to the Bears after Matt Nagy leaves, because I think it will be the best job to take for any head coach out there. They have a quarterback (in my opinion), and it will be easy to rebuild that defense. The focus: the offensive line.
