Jovic is a problem

Luka Jovic is a problem for Real Madrid today. One of many, because the remodeling of the squad that the white club intends, in a context of global crisis in the world of football, presents enormous obstacles. One of them is to find a way out for the Serbian striker and do it at a decent price so that his time at Madrid does not damage the bank’s accounts too much. A complicated task, since Jovic has been at a low level for two consecutive seasons, although with all Madrid he trusts that acceptable proposals will arrive for him.

Jovic cost Real Madrid 60 million euros in the summer of 2019. The white team opted for the Serbian (born in Bosnia) given his youth (Today he is barely 23 years old; he arrived at Madrid with only 21) and seduced by his excellent 2018-19 season at the Eintracht Frankfurt, where he scored 27 goals that year alone. Jovic signed a contract for six seasons, until 2025, and a net salary of five million a year, or what is the same, a cost to the club of ten million per season.

Saving that chip would undoubtedly help Madrid, at a time when it needs to cut expenses to make cash and salary gap to the great dream, which is none other than Mbappé. As for the sale price of the striker, Madrid would settle for 40 million, which comes out of subtracting the amortization of his first two years at the club (60 million and six years of contract, ten million amortized per season), a figure that today seems high for Jovic: its value in Transfermarkt is barely 20 million; in BeSoccer that value rises to 26.92 million.

Jovic started having minutes in Madrid the course that has just finished, but he did not convince and went to the bench, to the point that Zidane authorized his exit in the winter market on loan to Eintracht, his former team, remaining only with Benzema and Mariano in the position. In white he has barely scored two goals and given two assists in 1,014 minutes, a very scarce baggage for an investment of 10,000 million of the old pesetas. However, his return to Frankfurt was exciting, scoring three goals in the first three games, always coming off the bench. Then he started playing regularly and got stuck again; He only did so much more to the end.

Jovic depends on André Silva

However, Eintracht has shown interest in studying re-fishing it at an advantageous price, aware that it has already given its best level there and can do it again, with only 23 years old as it is. But to do this, he first needs to make room for it and raise, objectives that he intended to achieve with the sale of André Silva, who this season has left with 29 goals and ten assists in 34 games. And here comes the problem: according to what is published in Germany, there are no offers yet for Silva.

During the last weeks of the club season, it was reported that Eintracht valued Silva at around 40 million euros, an affordable price for most of the greats in Europe. The interest of various teams, such as United or Chelsea, has transcended from England, but that interest has not yet been translated into concrete offers and without the money from the sale of the Portuguese, Frankfurt cannot attempt the return of Jovic.
