Journalist Predictions: Cowboys vs. Rams

This week the Cowboys pack their bags to visit the Rams in Hollywood, the champions in 2021. But every year is a new year. This Rams team is 2-2 and is missing several key players who were instrumental in its success last year.

For their part, the Cowboys will again be without their quarterback and leader, Dak Prescott. No one is going to argue that Dak is a better quarterback than his replacement Cooper Rush, but if Dallas continues to win Jerry Jones he won’t be in a rush to trade and risk another injury to his highest-paid player.

Cowboys vs. Rams! Which team will win? Let’s ask the journalists of Vamos Cowboys.

Week 5: Dallas Cowboys (+5.5) @ Los Angeles Rams

On paper, the game against the Rams seemed like a sure loss for Dallas. However, the current inconsistency of the reigning NFL champions opens up the possibility of a cowboy victory.

We’ve already seen how the Bills’ and 49ers’ defenses, two of the best yet, neutralized the Rams’ offense. As such, the Cowboys’ defense could pull off a similar performance. All things considered, Los Angeles’ attacking problems don’t look like they’re going to be resolved this weekend.

However, the real challenge for the Cowboys will be whether the offense can thrive despite a defense led by Aaron Donald, Bobby Wagner and company. Despite this, I insist: it is possible that Dallas emerges victorious from SoFi Stadium. Even more so after seeing how the Rams have been playing. Of course, this promises to be a closed game. Cowboys 19, Rams 13.

Dallas will have the difficult task in week 5 of traveling to Los Angeles. At the start of the season this game looked like a very possible loss. However, the recent performance of the defending champions was too inconsistent. Especially in the offensive part, they showed that they still have a lot to correct.

The defense must take advantage of the rival line. The Rams rank second in the NFL in sacks allowed with 16. That fits right in with the production displayed by pass rushers. In turn, Matthew Stafford leads the league with six interceptions. Logically Cooper Kupp is the element that can change everything. For the offense it will be essential that Cooper Rush get rid of the ball quickly because Aaron Donald could destroy any plan.

I think the Cowboys will beat the Rams. Cowboys 16, Rams 13.

The Cowboys will once again have a great test against a rival that, although it has been inconsistent in the campaign, we must not lower our guard since it is the current Super Bowl champion. The Rams are currently 2-2, but there are a few things Dallas could take advantage of to get a very good win on the road. The cowboy defensive line could take advantage of a Rams offensive line that clearly isn’t at its best. Injuries have decimated the group and both Brian Allen and Coleman Shelton will not be in the game at SoFi Stadium. It could be another big sack day for the Cowboys defense, with the Rams already receiving seven from the 49ers defense in Week 4.

They will also be without right cornerback Decobie Durant or safety Jordan Fuller. So Cooper Rush has a golden opportunity for the cowboy receiving corps to shine against a secondary line that will also be faltering. I think this will end in a positive result for Dallas, which will be hugely important heading into the matchup with the Eagles in Week 6. Cowboys 24, Rams 13.

Ignore the Rams’ record, this is still one of the best teams in the NFC, with an innovative head coach.

I don’t have to tell you the obvious – Aaron Donald is an offensive plan destroyer and Dallas will have to take that into account to have a chance to win this game. But don’t forget Jalen Ramsey either, who will bill for errant passes.

At the end of the day, while I think the Cowboys have the talent to get past the Rams, they still have Mike McCarthy calling the shots and the Rams have Sesn McVay. Advantage for the Rams, although it will undoubtedly be a tight game. Rams 27, Cowboys 26.
