Sports Writing, March 23 (EFE) .- Receiver Tyreek Hill, formerly of the Kansas City Chiefs, shared this Wednesday his excitement at arriving at the Miami Dolphins for the 2022 NFL season.

“Today is a new beginning; I’m very excited to join the Miami Dolphins and get to work immediately to pursue many successes,” Hill said after closing his four-year, $120 million contract with the Dolphins.

In exchange for the six-time Pro Bowl selection, the Chiefs will receive five Draft picks from Miami; three this year and two more in 2023.

The 28-year-old receiver with six seasons in the NFL set a franchise record with Kansas City in 2021 of 1,239 yards, 111 receptions and nine touchdowns.

Chiefs general manager Brett Veach acknowledged how difficult it will be to fill the void of Tyreek Hill, who helped lead them to Super Bowl LIV.

“He is a special player, one of the best in franchise history. He has been a big part of our success, including our championship run. This decision was incredibly difficult, but necessary,” explained Veach.

Kansas City coach Andy Reid also weighed in on the departure of the owner of jersey number 10.

“I am happy for Tyreek, he has grown as a man and a player here in Kansas City. Everyone in this organization appreciates everything he did for our team. I wish him much success,” Reid said.

The Pearson native, Giorgia, was with Kansas City since his arrival in the NFL in 2016; he recorded 479 receptions, 6,630 yards and 56 touchdowns.

Hill played in all four AFC championship games the Chiefs have played in a row since 2019, and was a big part of Super Bowl LIV, which they beat the 49ers, and LV, which they lost to the Buccaneers.

In more free agency moves this Wednesday, the Denver Broncos announced the arrival of cornerback K’Waun Williams, 30, formerly of the San Francisco 49ers.

In Houston, the Texans signed quarterback Kyle Allen, who in 2021 played for Washington, and Cleveland Browns running back Andy Janovich.

Former Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Dakota Dozier has agreed to wear the colors of the Chicago Bears in 2022.

In New England, the Patriots convinced cornerback Malcolm Butler, 32, to come out of retirement to play two more years. Butler was a champion with the Pats in Super Bowl XLIX and LI; he played with the Titans between 2018 and 2020.

The previous season he was with the Arizona Cardinals, but due to the lack of activity he opted for retirement, a decision that he changed to return to the Patriots.
