Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman Lt. Indiana Miranda confirmed that Haskins was the person who was struck by a dump truck this morning, the Associated Press reports.

Haskins was walking on a South Florida highway when he was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“He was walking down the road and they hit him,” Miranda told The Associated Press.

The accident occurred on westbound Interstate 595.
