Dolphins, Giants, Bears and Saints, the first to return to practice in the NFL

Sports Writing.- The NFL announced this Friday that the Miami Dolphins, the New York Giants, the Chicago Bears and the New Orleans Saints will be the first teams to return to training this offseason.

This calendar will start on April 4 with the return to the practice fields of these four teams, after the nine weeks of rest that each team had since their last game in the 2021 season.

The return to activity program this low season will be carried out in three phases. The first consists of two weeks with activities limited to meetings, strength training, conditioning and physical rehabilitation.

Phase two consists of three weeks of on-the-field workouts and separate plays between offensive and defensive teams with no contact.

The last phase lasts four weeks. In it, the teams can carry out 10 days of Team Practices, Organized Team Activity (OAT); they are in-person meetings and classroom instruction designed to help players improve during the offseason.

In these activities contact is still not allowed, but it is possible to perform exercises of seven against seven, nine against seven and 11 against 11.

On April 11, the Texans, Jaguars, Broncos, Raiders, Vikings and Buccaneers will start their practice field.

In the case of the ‘Bucs’, who were scheduled to resume activity on April 18, the sudden change of coach, after the retirement of Bruce Arians, by regulation moved their start of activity to the 11th under the orders of their new Coach Todd Bowles.

On the 18th of the same month, 13 teams will do it; Patriots, Jets, Ravens, Steelers, Colts, Titans, Chiefs, Chargers, Cowboys, Commanders, Packers, Panthers and the Rams, champions of the NFL.

A day later the Bills, Browns, Lions, Falcons, Cardinals, 49ers and Seahawks will return to activity. The Philadelphia Eagles will do so on the 25th and the last team to return will be the AFC monarch, the Cincinnati Bengals, on May 2.

All teams can hold a minicamp for veteran players, which must take place during phase three of the offseason program.

In the Dallas Cowboys, scheduled to return on April 18, coach Mike McCarthy shared that at this time his quarterback Dak Prescott is preparing with two passing sessions per week, to which a day will be added after the return of the rest of the team. .

The intent, McCarthy explained, is for Prescott to get more reps with his receivers than he did before last season.
