Micah Parsons continues to make good impressions in his first year in the NFL. However, the result of the race does not reflect reality. And here’s why.

At first, many fans and reporters thought the Dallas rookie had snatched the title of fastest player in the league from the Kansas City wide receiver. But if we look at the race in detail, it is clear that Hill did not give his best effort. This, it is worth noting, because he had just played the American Conference final last Sunday.

This is something Parsons is aware of. And so he made it clear in his statement after the race, acknowledging that Hill really is the fastest player in the NFL.

“I know (Tyreek Hill) doesn’t come here to play to the fullest, he played a couple of days ago.”said Parsons in statements collected by Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. “He is the fastest guy in the league. I am happy to be somewhere in the middle.”

Apart, and between jokes, Parsons asked that his speed statistics in the Madden video game be improved after this exhibition.

It is worth mentioning that Tyreek Hill has received criticism after his loss in this race. It was even speculated that the player may be injured. However, unlike his rivals in the race, Hill did play last Sunday. In fact, he had a great performance in the AFC conference final between the Chiefs and the Bengals. There, he had seven receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown.

Besides, Hill also had a great performance in the previous game against the Bills, this in the divisional round. In that game, Tyreek had 11 receptions for 150 yards and a touchdown. And that score came after an impressive 64-yard play to end the fourth quarter.

Besides, the measurements continue to favor Hill. In his measurements prior to the 2016 Draft, the receiver posted a time of 4.29 seconds on the 40-yard dash, with an average speed of 21.91 miles per hour. This tops the time of 4.59 seconds set by Parsons at Penn State Pro Day last year.

Although Tyreek Hill may not have given his best effort in the Pro Bowl Skills Showdown, that doesn’t detract from Micah Parsons’ victory. On the contrary, this reaffirms the good decision the Cowboys made in selecting him in the 2021 Draft. Having such a fast and voracious player is a great advantage for the Cowboy defense.
