Dan Quinn has become a trusted voice in the organization as he enters his second year as the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator.

He interviewed for five head coaching positions and turned down the opportunity for a sixth interview.

After Quinn agreed to stay in Dallas on a better contract, his relationship with head coach Mike McCarthy grew stronger.

Quinn knows his place in the organization, but there is an understanding that he could become a head coach elsewhere in the future.

For now, he’s here and just making things work for the Cowboys.

“I think it’s very important in leadership roles to be consistent in everything you do,” McCarthy said.
