“Something may come up in the report [de lesiones], but you know that’s the league, and if you don’t report every little thing, you’ll get suspended, or fined, but I feel great,” he said. “I still feel the best I’ve felt in a long time. It’s not even comparable to where I was last year going into this game. Honestly, I’m excited and ready for Sunday to come.”
And so it was that Prescott was added to said injury report with an ankle issue, something he knew would immediately evoke anxiety in a fan base that saw him miss most of his 2020 season due to a compound fracture in the ankle. same ankle that caused him some discomfort on Thursday.
But it turns out the problem wasn’t his ankle, at least not directly.
“I changed shoes today and it probably wasn’t the best idea,” he said. “So there you go, I’m ready to play. I promise. … It was a [problema] of shoes. I was limited, but I’m ready to play.
“I promise, I’m great. It’s a bionic ankle, so we’re good.”
Prescott also battled injury in 2021 when he suffered a preseason shoulder strain that kept him out in August, but he later threw 42 times for 403 yards and three touchdowns with just one interception against the same Buccaneers.
That said, is there any chance Thursday’s shoe issue could push it back on Sunday?
“No, no,” Prescott said. “Not at all. No way.
“…I actually wear new shoes every game, but it was really just a different style and a different fit. I tried it out [hoy] and I quickly learned that [funcionarán]”.
Prescott said he’ll be back in the Jordan 1s (which he’s worn and served) for Friday and game day, and he hopes the Cowboys aren’t on the losing end of another Tom Brady win this time.
