Bucs edge champion Rams to snap three-game losing streak

Sports Writing, 6 Nov. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers snapped a three-game losing streak on Sunday by beating the champion Los Angeles Rams 16-13 in game week nine of the 2022 NFL season.

In the game, the Bucs quarterback Tom Brady became the first NFL player to exceed 100,000 passing yards in the regular season and playoffs; he reached 100,116 yards.

Tampa Bay marches with four wins and five losses in second place in the NFC South. The Rams are 3-5 in third place in the NFC West.

Brady, who passed for 280 yards, led the comeback on the final play, hitting Cade Otton for the game-winning score.

With the Rams, Matthew Stafford passed for 165 yards and a touchdown; he was captured four times.

The offense of the team led by coach Sean McVay has been far this season from the power that led them to Super Bowl LVI last February.

His offense, the thirtieth among 32 teams, is what has cost the coach the most; Los Angeles’ strength is in his defense, the fifth best in the NFL.

The Buccaneers took a 3-0 lead with a field goal on their opening drive of the first quarter.

The Rams woke up at the start of the second period. Stafford connected in the open field with Cooper Kupp, the best offensive player of 2021, who based on his speed reached the end zone to turn the result 7-3 in the second quarter.

Tampa Bay’s offense continued its irregular behavior. Brady completed only 15 of 24 passes and although he passed for 124 yards before the break he couldn’t get his team into the end zone. The Bucs got closer to 7-6 with another field goal.

Los Angeles grappled with the same problem as their rival early in the third quarter; Despite the fact that Stafford placed his attack eight yards from the end zone, he missed three times; the Rams went away 10-6 with a field goal.

At the end of the third quarter, Los Angeles advanced to the rival’s 10-yard line, but were once again stopped by the good work of the Bucs’ defense. The Rams settled again with three points that distanced them 13-6.

Faced with an inability to convert touchdowns, the Bucs cut back to 13-9 on a 3-point kick midway through the fourth quarter. On his last drive, with less than a minute left, Brady led his team to the touchdown with a pass to Otton for a 16-13 win.

In another game, the Seattle Seahawks reached four consecutive victories, triumphing 31-21 over the Arizona Cardinals with outstanding performances by quarterback Geno Smith and running back Kenneth Walker.

Smith had 275 yards and two touchdowns. Walker rushed for 109 yards and had two touchdowns.

The victory maintains the Seahawks as leaders of the NFC West with a record of six wins and three losses; the Cardinals are last in the same division at 4-5.
