Broncos, Chargers, Chiefs and Raiders will fight inch by inch for the AFC West

In the last six years the AFC West it has been exclusively of the Chiefs. However, the Broncos, Chargers and Chiefs have strengthened considerably and now the division looks like the closest in the NFL.

Kansas City has won the division crown six straight times (longest dominance in AFC West history), but the Missouri club raises some doubts after the departure of Tyreek Hill, supplied with the firms of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. In addition, defensively, they lost the likes of Charvarius Ward, Tyrann Mathieu and Melvin Ingram.

The argument that plays in favor of Kansas is the dominance they have against their divisional rivals. Since 2016 the Chiefs are 31-5 and in the two most recent seasons they accumulate a record of 9-3.

In 2021 the Broncos finished 7-10; however, by 2022 Denver is one of the favorites to reach the Super Bowl. in the off season the Colorado organization mortgaged its future by giving up five draft picks (two first round) and three players to make of the services of Russell Wilson.

Wilson will come to an offense that has Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton as his top passing options. and a terrestrial cast starring Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon. Another factor helping the Broncos is that their defense was the eighth-best in 2021.

The Chargers have been the Chiefs’ most awkward rival since Justin Herbert came to the NFL. Since the 2020 campaign the ‘Bolts’ are 2-2 against Kansas City, but have failed to qualify for the postseason.
