Sports Writing, 7 Dec. Von Miller, linebacker for the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, will miss the remainder of the 2022 NFL season after he underwent surgery on his right knee Wednesday to repair a torn ACL.
“Don’t feel sorry for me. I’m excited for the opportunity to show my teammates how strong I am and how hard I work. I love and appreciate them. All the love and respect to everyone,” was the message he posted. Miller on his social networks after his operation.
The linebacker was injured late in the second quarter in his team’s win over the Detroit Lions in Week 12.
The DeSoto, Texas native underwent exploratory surgery revealing an ACL injury in his right knee.
Buffalo had hoped for its player’s recovery after having him on the disabled list in last week’s game against the New England Patriots, there was even hope that he would return for next Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, something that was ruled out this Wednesday.
Von Miller signed a six-year contract with the Bills last March in exchange for $120 million.
The 33-year-old was an important part of the Los Angeles Rams defense that won Super Bowl LVI in February of this year, Miller’s second title of his career.
The first was obtained with the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50, in which he was designated Most Valuable Player (MVP).
The eight-time Pro Bowl selection began his career with Denver in 2011, midway through the 2021 season he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, a team with which he won his second Vince Lombardi trophy.
In the current season with the Buffalo Bills, the linebacker had eight quarterback sacks and 21 tackles.
Throughout his 12-year career, he has 123.5 sacks and 561 tackles. EFE
