The 2021-22 season of the National Football League starts this Thursday and will have the bulk of the games, as always, on Sundays. This September 12 Green bay packers debuts before New Orleans Saints on Jacksonvilledue to the aftermath of Hurricane IDA in Louisiana.

This will not be just any season for the Packers. The team will seek to repeat and improve what it has done in the last two years where they reached the finals of the National Conference. It may be the last run of Aaron Rodgers with the jersey, so neither party will want to end without a Super Bowl.

But to achieve that, they must win a lot of games and they must have, for the most part, healthy players. The defense was spotty last year, but one of their best players, Za’Darius Smith, is in doubt for the debut and today there was positive news about it.

Za’Darius Smith should make it to Green Bay Packers debut

As it is, the edge rusher he’s been in and out of training while dealing with an injury. But this Monday, after the coach Matt LaFleur states that he was optimistic that Smith would be back in practice, that was true, as the defender was part of individual drills.

Although it does not mean that it is confirmed for Sunday, it is a step in the right direction and with the expectations skyrocketing in the Wisconsin franchise, having your leader in catches of the last two seasons it would be huge for a defense that really needs it.
