The event happened in a meeting between Platense de La Plata and Gimnasia de Chivilcoy for the Provincial Club Tournament. José Luis Pappalardi was sent off for two unsportsmanlike fouls and wanted to attack the judge, who ended up fleeing the field.

This Sunday, and in a match corresponding to the Provincial Club Tournament in which Platense de La Plata and Gimnasia de Chivilcoy faced each other, Jose Luis Pappalardi starred in a reprehensible situation of violence being expelled from the match for an unsportsmanlike double foul: he ran across the pitch to the referee to hit him.

The last quarter started and Platense won 53-46 when, in a controversial game action, judge Andrés Álvarez whistled Pappalardi for an unsportsmanlike foul and the Chivilcoy team player was expelled. First, the pivot reproached the referee for acting and then he threatened to leave the court, but off his axis, and wrapped in anger, he returned to insult the referee. The basketball player continued to approach the judge and the situation began to become increasingly tense.

The police, comrades and even Pappalardi’s own adversaries tried to stop him and calm down, but the lungo, out of his mind, He began to chase Álvarez all over the floor, who ran to save himself from the attack until he jumped over the signs and left the field. It should be noted that Pappalardi did not stop there and went for more: He skipped the posters too and went straight to the authorities’ locker room to continue with the brawl.

Apparently, the judge ended up safe and sound, but off the court. The game ended and, as expected, the points were in the hands of Platense. Now, we have to wait for the sanction that the Disciplinary Court of the Basketball Federation of the Province of Buenos Aires will apply to Pappalardi. A harsh sanction is coming.
