An event celebrating the most influential women in sports in the United States will reward Kobe’s widow for her work with the ‘Mamba & Mambacita’ foundation
The award will be presented to him on the eve of Super Bowl LVI during the third annual Sports Power Brunch.

Vanessa Bryant will receive an award for her leadership and patronage in the sports world on the eve of Super Bowl LVI, which takes place on February 13 in Los Angeles, California. The widow of NBA and Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant will be honored for his work with the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundationwhich aspires to create a positive impact and give opportunities to young athletes from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The foundation was created last year to continue the legacy of Kobe and Gigi, the daughter of the couple who lost their lives in the tragic helicopter crash on January 26, 2020. Bryant will receive at the third annual Sports Power Brunch the ‘Be your own champion’ award for his work to promote and facilitate sport in socially and economically difficult environments.
Other women receiving awards at the gala will include Los Angeles Sparks Vice President Natalia White, EAG Sports CEO Denise White and Fox Sports Executive Vice President of Communications Terri Hines.
