Uruguay defeated Chile 75-65 for basketball qualifiers and now the heavyweights are coming

Uruguay came from losing Thursday from start to finish against Brazil 73-60 and needed to improve the image he left on that occasion.

The Argentine coach Rubén Magnano could not count with Jayson Granger, who had to return to Spain due to personal problems, or with Santiago Véscovi who had a curricular activity with the University of Tennessee in Rwanda. The team managed to take a 20-point lead, which settled the game and protected it from the decline it experienced in the last quarter, where fluidity in attack was lost.

Fitipaldo finished as the light blue top scorer with 14 points. In addition, he gave five assists.

Batista had 12 with eight rebounds, a category where he was only separated by Wachsmann with nine. The center from Malvín also contributed 12 points.

Iglesias closed a very good window with six points, five rebounds and two assists.

The team shot 32 triples and hit nine, with 28% success. Chile shot 26% in triples with five hits out of 19 attempts.

Uruguay clearly dominated the rebound with 41 to 30. The victory was never in question, but the performance left many aspects to improve.

And starting in August, Uruguay will have to score points against rivals of substance: the United States, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
