The masculine and feminine ensembles of the catholic they take the two gold medals of the competition without losing a match

San Javier has been the seat of the University of Spain Championshipersity (CEU) 2022 Basketball organized by the UCAM in which the host university has won the two gold medals with its male and female teams.

In it male box, the UCAM team led its group against the universities of Malaga (69-38), A Coruña (51-47) and Castilla La Mancha (58-21), qualifying for the semifinal against the Rey Juan Carlos University, which they won with a final score of 57-38. In this way they reached the final undefeated at the Principe Felipe de San Javier Pavilion and were proclaimed Spanish university champions beating the University of Seville by a seventeen-point lead (88-71).

In the competition feminine the UCAM won the group stage over the universities of Castilla La Mancha (69-25), Zaragoza (57-24) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (77-33) to reach the semifinals and defeat the University of Valencia (62 -52). In the final, which was also hosted at the Príncipe Felipe Pavilion, they put the icing on the cake with a score of 93-56 against the Polytechnic University of Madrid to win the gold medal.

This has been the seventeenth CEU of the nineteen that the Catholic University of Murcia organizes this year in the Region. An organizational effort unprecedented in the history of Spanish university sports that the UCAM makes on the occasion of its 25th anniversary. In this tournament they have participated close from 500 athletes from 22universities throughout Spain.

With twenty-three Spanish University Championships held out of the twenty-seven that will be held in the 2022 edition, the UCAM remains leader in the CEU medal table with one46 medals (99 golds, 26 silver Y twenty-onebronzes)the best brand in all history.
