2K Foundations, the philanthropic arm of 2K that supports and inspires underprivileged communities with investments in local enrichment programs, revealed its latest project in Ljubljana, Slovenia, last weekend. In collaboration with the local authorities of Ljubljana and the All-Star of the Dallas mavericks, Luka Doncic, 2K Foundations has rehabilitated the court where he played in his childhood. The restoration also includes new stands and lighting.
The track art has been chosen by Doncic himself, who chose the local graphic designer Nejc Prah to give them life. Luka’s new logo integrates his initials (RS), his number (77) and arrows that represent his style of play, while the remaining space marks an “S” in homage to his country of origin, Slovenia.
“It is a very exciting day for me. I have very good memories of my childhood in Ljubljana. These are the courts where I grew up, learned and trained this sportDoncic said.It is an honor to be able to help my city and my country, which have given me so much and those I love so much. That children have the opportunity to play on the same courts and pursue the same dreams is something that excites me“.
In the celebration, Luka signed the court, dedicating it to the community, and local children were invited to participate in basketball shows, 3-on-3 games, dribbling classes, and skill challenges.. A jury, which included Luka, selected the MVPs for the challenges, while Jordan Brand and BioSteel, both brands that collaborate with Doncic, provided prizes and equipment to the participants.
