“This is quite an experience”

Santiago Rodríguez had an outstanding performance in the match in which Capurro beat him on August 25 by group A of the Second Division. The popular “Lobo” spoke with Basketball Total once the match was over.

Santiago did not hide his happiness at being back inside a game rectangle: “I am very happy to play. Beyond winning or losing, I am 31 years old and have not played basketball in a long time. A tournament like this makes you excited about it again, and I’m very happy about it. The games are anecdotal, the first with Caimanes was very short, with August 25 very closed, everything that basketball has”.

The “Wolf” spoke of everything that the meeting as such implies, the vibe that is felt in each day: “With Facundo (Sánchez) we say among ourselves that we know more about the organizers than those who play because they are very formative. The reality is that this is quite an experience. I brought my nephew to see what it is like, because it reminds me of a mini basketball match. You see other teams, you chat for a while. Afterwards it is hilarious to play basketball, but this sharing with other teams and breathing basketball makes me very happy ”.

Despite all the beauty of the meeting, there was also a lot of friction in the two games that his team played, on which he highlighted: “Rubbing is part of basketball. If you have to give yourself, you have to give yourself, and if you have to play hard, you do. Perhaps the first game with Caimanes we could have been a little more intelligent and not hit each other as much, but we started to hit each other, and they are things that the lack of oxygen generates in the brain”.

Finally, Santiago spoke about the objectives they have in this competition: “We want to include the club in this discipline. I participate in the Board of Directors and I am interested in the club becoming part of all this. We know that there is a promotion at stake, you may put it in and people get excited. There is Lorena and the people of the club, as a club it is always good to participate and be on the map in this type of thing”.
