The unmissable meeting between NBA Academy Africa and NBA Academy Latin America in Mexico

The NBA is determined as a league to support talent around the world and with that objective there was a great meeting between NBA Academy Africa and NBA Academy Latin America at the Loma Centro Deportivo (San Luis Potosí, Mexico) to experience a week of matches, Recreational activities, dunk contest and a unique experience of cultural exchange.

The games that were played between the NBA academies were broadcast by the NBA Academy YouTube channel with the stellar presence of Horacio Llamas, the first Mexican player in the NBA, who served as analyst and commentator.

The NBA Academy Latin America is a basketball training program for the best prospects in Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, South America and Canada. The starting point of this project was in 2017 and one of the objectives of the program is to offer the best youth prospects in the region a holistic approach to their development and growth.

The NBA Academy Latin America program focuses on the total growth of the prospects that come to the academy with a focus on health, well-being, character development and life skills. And sports are not far behind, since the league offers the possibility of learn directly from coaches with professional, university and international experience.

The good news came for young Latin American basketball lovers because since January 2021 the NBA and La Loma Centro Deportivo, a world-class sports facility recognized for hosting the best athletes from around the world, reached an agreement for the sports venue to be the official home of the NBA Academy Latin America for several years.
