Stephen Curry has no regrets for not being at the Olympics

He is perhaps the great absentee in the United States team that will play the Tokyo Olympics. Stephen Curry sounded right from the start as a possible member of Team USA. Being one of the best players in the NBA, the fact that he had not made the playoffs with the Warriors pushed him. However, little by little names were added to the list to be directed by Gregg Popovich without the MVP twice signing up for it. Finally, and as it already seemed a fact, his resignation was confirmed.

Now, with the US team preparing for the international tournament in Las Vegas, Curry has been questioned just in case he thinks he should have made another decision. The base clarifies that he does not regret having said ‘no’.

“It was a difficult decision. Coming out of such a condensed season, with the protocols and finding myself at this point in my career, it is clear that I value what to do in the offseason. I’m working on the pitch, but going to play would mean that a lot could happen. I respect all the players who go and play in Las Vegas and wish them every success and a gold medal to prove it. It just wasn’t the right thing for me. I am fully convinced of that decision. I do not regret at all. Obviously I’m fine here I’m playing golf and having fun with my family. It’s something personal, ”he explains, enjoying one of his great passions, golf.

The calendar and the effort made during the campaign have had an important weight in the decision of Stephen Curry, who also admits that seeing how there have been so many injuries in recent weeks has also weighed so that he is not in the Asian country representing his country.

“Everything is taken into account. I analyze how I feel physically and mentally and observe what is happening in the league. There is no single reason, but in the end I have to decide if I want to be playing or not. The answer was finally ‘no’. Now I have to prepare for the next season. I have a plan to follow to be ready when the next training camp begins, ”he says.
