Some Campazzo, a lot of Denver, all of Jokic

The new victory of Denver Nuggets, fourth in a row, brought more of the same: collective joy for the victory, the irregularity of Facundo Campazzo and the consecration of Nikola Jockic.

It was barely 6’50” that the Cordovan had on the field with three points (0-1 in triples, 3-4 in free), one assist, three loose balls and one foul. Theirs went unnoticed next to the Serb’s great match, who scored 22 of his 29 points in the second half of a game in which he contributed a triple double so that The Denver Nuggets will beat the diminished New Orleans Pelicans 116-105 this Friday. The Balkan also added 13 rebounds and ten assists.

In a tight first half, he had only seven points, and the Nuggets led 50-48 at halftime. But in the first 11 minutes of the second half, last season’s MVP contributed 16 points, hitting three of his four 3-pointers in that stretch.

Denver extended the lead to 86-78 early in the fourth quarter and never lost it. He led by 16 points when Bryn Forbes hit a 3-pointer that made it 103-87 midway through the period. Forbes totaled 14 points.

Aaron Gordon scored 20 per the Nuggets, who won their fourth straight game and their fifth of the last six. And this Sunday they will have a very complicated one: the Milwaukee Bucks by Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has just scored 38 points (with 13 rebounds) against the New York Knicks.
