Santander revives the Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank party

This Saturday, Santander’s emblematic Plaza Porticada was the scene of the seventh stop of the CaixaBanko Plaza 3×3 circuit, which has brought together 252 players from all categories, who have played 140 games and received more than 3,000 visitors, with Fernando Romay as FEB Ambassador, already one of the pioneers of women’s basketball in Cantabria.

Santander’s emblematic Plaza Porticada has experienced another festive day of the Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank 2022 circuit this Saturday, which has had the participation of 252 players registered in 67 teams of all categories. 140 games have been played and the stop has seen more than 3,000 visitors parade through the square throughout the day, in which Fernando Romay has once again acted as FEB Ambassador.

It was the seventh stop on the circuit this year, which on previous dates made stops in Melilla, Madrid, Malaga, Palma, Pamplona and A Coruña, and will continue next weekend in Barcelona, ​​as part of the urban sports day Extreme. The para in the Cantabrian capital has also had the presence of almost 4,000 visitors and the collaboration of a team of volunteers attached to the successful FEB-CaixaBank Volunteer Program.

The event also featured a surprise visit from Conchita Santamaría, former player and captain of the first women’s basketball team in Santander history, from the former Women’s Section. At 99 years old, she did not want to miss the day, and she has received the affection of institutions, young people and the general public.

The day has been developed approximately from 10:00 to 18:00, and not only the competitions by categories have been held, but also the usual contests organized by the FEB Ambassador. Following the guidelines of all the previous stops on the circuit, compliance with health protocols has been guaranteed at all times to guarantee the health of participants and visitors. At the end of the day, prizes were distributed.

The event has had the institutional support of the Santander City Council and the collaboration of the Cantabrian Basketball Federation.
