REGATTAS, MORE LEADER THAN EVER IN THE FEDERAL BASKETBALL LEAGUE

El Náutico beat Sportsmen Unidos de Rosario at home by 91 to 86, and regained the lead alone in CAB Region 1. The Rosario team dominated the match for a good part, but those from Dastugue brought out all their weapons in the second time to turn history around and add their ninth win in ten games.

Despite the fact that Náutico had an auspicious start thanks to Repetti (7 points), the visit began to impose conditions, with their intense defense throughout the pitch and their dynamics. He charged a lot to the offensive rebound, where he had second options and with a compact defense, he took Mena and Rodríguez out of the game.

But in addition, it hurt with Pablo Mécoli and Boixader’s decision to attack and Hospital’s intelligence in driving, to go on to win 13-8. Regatas seemed uncomfortable, unable to impose his game and with defensive difficulties, but López and Ingrata’s three-pointers rescued him, to take the first quarter 23-22.

However, everything changed in the second segment, with a dominating Sportsmen, from a defense that did not give the local chances, especially in the low post. The people from Rosario dominated the game, diversifying their offenses, where everyone scored, with a lot of circulation and intelligence.

Tripelli and Zapata gave him air from the bench, Boixader was unstoppable, and the rest contributed their own, to escape 47 to 34. Regatas had trouble attacking and had problems in defense, depending on Repetti and López, against a very confident visitor, that he passed the ball neatly, and that with a partial of 30-17 he went into the break winning by 52-40.

And that dominance extended to the beginning of the third quarter, where at the hands of Hospital -who won the duel against López- Sportsmen escaped 59-45. Regatas could not find a way around the game, beyond some changes in his defense that he tried, in a tough match, with many fouls called.

However, the Náutico, despite the fact that they could not find a way around it, began to defend to the limit – that took away a goal from Rosario – and found a goal in attack, with Ingrata and López, plus the appearance of Patricio Rodríguez. He scored a partial of 21-13 in 4m50 and was put into play, facing the resolution of the match.

The last quarter was tremendous, with two teams defending to the limit, but with Regatas that gained confidence, improving in defense, with a more participatory Mena and with more variants. Sportsmen was no longer the same and the local took him ahead.

A double from Repetti and another from Mena allowed him to go on to win 77-74 and although the visitors continued to fight at the hands of Mecoli and Boixader, Regatas went on to win 85-79. But when he had it to settle, he missed 5 consecutive free kicks (1 -6) and the people from Rosario continued in the fight and were down 88 to 84.

There appeared the experience of Pato Rodríguez, who with two free kicks and taking advantage of the fact that Sportsmen lost Boixader due to fouls, closed the match with authority and took the victory by 91 to 86.

He played a very tough game, against a rival who played at a very good level for much of the game, achieving the ninth victory in 10 presentations, to continue as a leader in the area.

Repetti once again stood out (19 points, 8-13 doubles, 4 rebounds, 4 assists), well supported by López (19 points, 4-6 triples, 5 rebounds, 2 assists) and Mena (18 points and 5 rebounds). .
