Redick to be NBA analyst for ESPN

JJ Redick joins ESPN as an NBA analyst a month after announcing his retirement after a 15-year playing career.

Redick will make his debut as a studio analyst on November 3 during the game between the Brooklyn nets and the Atlanta Hawks. In addition to contributing to many of ESPN’s studio shows, Redick will also be an analyst for some games this season.

“After 15 years in the NBA, I am excited to take what I have learned on the court and to be able to bring my knowledge and strong opinions about the game that I love,” Redick said in a statement. “I’m excited to have found a place on the biggest sports platform, ESPN. I look forward to starting my post-game career with such an incredible organization.”

Redick was the National Consensual College Basketball Player of the Year in 2006 at Duke before being selected 11th in the NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic. He also played for Milwaukee, LA Clippers, Sixers, New Orleans and Dallas.

This is not Redick’s first foray into the media. He launched his own podcast in 2015 and started ThreeFourTwo Productions last year. The company name is a reference to the 342 shots Reddick made every Sunday during the offseason.

“One of our goals is to always look for opportunities to become even stronger. JJ’s unique perspective and tremendous insight further enhances the depth of our team,” said David Roberts, senior vice president of NBA production and ESPN studio. .

“The fact that he has played with and against some of the biggest names in the NBA is another attribute that will best serve NBA fans.”
