Quillacollo explodes with joy with the basketball team

The national basketball team thrilled the Quillacollo sports fans yesterday with an exhibition match. This delighted 1,200 spectators and served as a farewell to the Bolivian delegation that will travel to Chile today, to participate in the second phase of the Pre-qualifying for the FIBA ​​World Cup Philippines-Japan-Indonesia 2023, which will be from July 13 to 15.

The result was quite narrow for the two formations proposed by coach Giovanny Vargas. The coach tested two possible starting five and their variants to play against Chile, Paraguay and Nicaragua.

The match, which was played in the official modality of four quarters of 10 minutes each, ended 96-92 in favor of Bolivia 2 over Bolivia 1.

The Bolivia 2 team, who wore green, started with Pedro Gutiérrez, Armando Choque, Joshua Reaves, Oliver Harry and Cristhian Camargo. Luis Salinas alternated.

Meanwhile, Bolivia 1 started with Ronald Arze, René Calvo, Diego Olguín, Áxel Veizaga and Luis Mercado. Paolo Ramos alternated.

On the edge of the playing field, the player Martín Ochoa, for now considered in the delegation, did a differentiated work.

The duel was quite eventful, although the players were also cautious at times, avoiding friction and physical wear and tear.

The first set was for Bolivia 2 by a narrow 24-20, with a Reaves that won the applause of the fans.

In the second set, Bolivia 2 took a greater advantage thanks to the 3-pointers, the dexterity of Oliver Harri and Reaves’ understanding with Cristhian Camargo. The difference was 52-44.

At halftime, Mayor Quillacollo, Héctor Cartagena, handed out divers to those selected.

In the third quarter the players came out wearing the jacket with Quillacollo’s sports colors. In this episode, Bolivia 1 brought out the fighting spirit, with an inspired Ronald Arze and a precise Luis Mercado.

The public was excited with a 66-66 that left the definition open for the last quarter.

The Reaves show, Choque’s tenacity and Salinas’ appearance were vital to break a tight score and that remained fairly even.

In the end, the green team (Bolivia 2) won 96-92.

The dispute of the commitment moved a city that loves basketball such as Quillacollo, which vibrated with the performance of the national teams.

Some fans appeared on the railings of the stands to ask the players to sign a ball or a shirt, but due to biosafety protocols, the basketball players had no contact with the spectators.

Some fans were disappointed, but they understood that there is a protocol that cannot be broken.

When leaving, the fans did not stop talking about the plays exhibited by the players of the Equipo de Todos, which today (8:00) travels to Santa Cruz, from which at 15:00 they will go to Santiago.

Public is postponed with the measures

The joy of basketball returned and the public responded to the call of this exhibition game that raised the amount necessary to cover the passage of the physiotherapist César Mansilla. Although the fans participated in the party, a large majority did not respect the biosecurity regulations.
