Puerto Varas Women’s Branch won the UACH Basketball Championship Puerto Montt headquarters

Last Wednesday night the UACH Women’s Basketball tournament, Puerto Montt headquarters, Fernando Núñez Valderas Cup, came to an end. The competition began on Wednesday, October 6, with the participation of the clubs Byaf de Frutillar, Rama Femenina de Puerto Varas, Camelias Basket, Austral Basket, CDSC Femenino LIZH and CDSC Academia Austral Alianza Escuela Melipulli, all from Puerto Montt.

The final was played by the female branch of Puerto Varas and Austral Basket, both casts held an entertaining match, which was always controlled by the Puerto-varinas who on the field of the Melipulli School gymnasium imposed their rhythm of play, which echoed in the numerous bar that accompanied the champions. The final scoreboard favored the Female Branch by 54 to 32. For third place, BYAF from Frutillar and Female LIZH faced each other, achieving the victory for the frutillarinas thus winning third place in the championship. The smiles did not end with the title for the Puerto Varinas, since the player Paula Ruíz was recognized with the award for sportsmanship.

Training Series

The minor series of the Female Branch have also seen action in recent days, last Wednesday on the Melipulli School court they visited LIZH Female and managed to emerge victorious in the U13 and U15 categories, which added to the previous triumph of the U18 series ensured the presence of the Puerto Varas Women’s Branch in the final home runs of all competitive series. As indicated by the club: “it is an achievement that a club with just over a year from its formation can compete at the level it is doing, our players have great potential and with the support of other entities, as a club we have been able to strengthen the work, in this sense we thank the Municipality of Puerto Varas, the Inmaculada Concepción School and the Escuela Grupo Escolar who have provided us with spaces to practice, favoring the sports development of our players ”.

After their match with LIZH, the U13 series had to get ready to participate between December 9 and 12 in the Magallanes Cup organized by the Spanish Club of Punta Arenas. There they will meet strong teams such as Español, INACAP and UMAG from Punta Arenas and Madre Paulina from Puerto Montt.
