“No player was too big”

Alex López had just lost a final with Trouville and a few months later he took revenge on his return to Biguá. He talked about his role, emotions and learning with Sims in this note.

The guard told the first sensations when he was champion: “Divine truth, my tears fell. Last year I was in the final and it was not given to me. I left with a barbaric row. For this season I came to a club that bet big, I tried to do my bit when I had to be there and when not, always on the firm side and with the best energy. I think we crowned in a good way “.

Biguá, despite going through complications, always played a showy basketball: “We get through a lot of tough times, with COVID or injuries. All the players who entered were up to the task, none of them was too big. That is the important thing. The supporting actors had it in our heads that we had to give our best every time we were touched. Pepo (Vidal), Rudd and Hatila (Passes) were injured, and we managed to make up for it ”.

Of his role in the team, Alex said: “This year I didn’t have to play as many minutes compared to what I was used to. But I knew he was coming to a campus that had been set up nicely. I had to contribute in beautiful games like the semifinals against Olimpia. But the most important thing was always the team and being united ”.

Biguá, had the MVP of the season, the one that López marked daily: “Sims is an animal, I suffered it in practice. He made me run everywhere in training, I hit him and I couldn’t stop him. What I learned from him was impressive. When these types of players come, you have to take advantage of them, enjoy them and listen to them “.

For the end, he dedicated the title: “I told my wife that if we won, she would come because I wanted to celebrate with my son and my old man. Whenever I talk about my father I get emotional because since I started in basketball, he accompanied me to all the courts. I dedicate it to my whole family, but especially to the two of them “.
