New club for Nicolas Brussino. The Argentine forward, who played last season for Casademont Zaragoza, agreed to join the CB Gran Canaria: will sign a contract for the next two years, as announced by the first division basketball club in Spain.
The 28-year-old from Santa Fe already played at the institution in 2017 in his first European experience, so it will be his return. Nico joins Gran Canaria for a special request from coach Porfi Fisak, who already had it in the Aragonese club.
The 2.04-meter forward began his career at Regatas Corrientes, then played for Peñarol de Mar del Plata and made the leap to the NBA in 2016 when he signed for the Dallas Mavericks, a franchise in which he was for a year and a half. In his last campaign at Casademont Zaragoza, Brussino averaged 11 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in the Endesa League. He leaves the team after two seasons in which he has reached “Final to Eight” paths of the Champions League, being third last season, and has achieved his best performance in the ACB.

The Argentina basketball team already started preparing for the Tokyo Olympics, whose first presentation will be on July 26. In the run-up to the Olympics, the players shortlisted by Sergio Hernández will go on a tour of Las Vegas, for which three friendlies have been confirmed.
The national delegation has been in that city since June 26, and there they will face Australia (on July 10), Nigeria (on 12) and the United States (on 13). In addition, there will be a fourth preparatory duel before leaving for Tokyo (the 17th) that remains to be made official, according to the Argentine Basketball Confederation.
