NBA Summary: Joel Embiid and Darius Garland opened the 50 club of the season

Joel Embiid made NBA history on Sunday with a mammoth 59-point performance in a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. and he shared the spotlight with Darius Garland, who also exceeded 50 points, although the Cleveland Cavaliers did not win.

SIXERS 105 – JAZZ 98

Embiid became the first player in history to exceed 50 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks in an NBA game. (blocks are only officially counted from the 1973-1974 season).

The Cameroonian center stunned with a career-high 59 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 blocks and, as an example of his totally dominating presence, he scored 26 of his team’s 27 points in the fourth quarter.

This outsized performance by Embiid came just 24 hours after he had 42 points in the Sixers’ win over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday.

Stephen Curry (27 points and 6 rebounds) was the benchmark for a misguided Warriors in the triple (16 of 47) while the Kings have six wins in their last eight games.

BULLS 103 – NUGGETS 126

With 7 wins in their last 10 games, the Denver Nuggets stormed Chicago forcefully and dominated the Bulls from start to finish thanks to 31 points from Michael Porter Jr. and 8 points, 6 rebounds and 14 assists from Nikola Jokic.

Zach LaVine (21 points) was the top scorer for the Bulls who were poor on 3-pointers (6 of 27) and suffered from the Nuggets’ great success (60% shooting from the field).

WIZARDS 102 – GRIZZLIES 92

Washington Wizards chained their fourth consecutive victory taking advantage of a Memphis Grizzlies in which Ja Morant and Desmond Bane did not play due to discomfort.

Kristaps Porzingis (25 points and 6 rebounds) led the Wizards on a winning streak while the Spanish Santi Aldama signed another remarkable performance for the Grizzlies with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocks in 29 minutes.

KNICKS 135 – THUNDER 145

Festival of points and invisible defenses in the victory of the Oklahoma City Thunder at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks with 37 points and 8 assists from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and triple-double from Josh Giddey (24 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists) .

For the Knicks, who had 48 points in the first quarter but gave up 62.5% shooting from the Thunnder, Cam Reddish led the offense with 26 points.
